Success is failure, failure is success.

Hint is an audiovisual installation created by the Italian collective SPIME.IM in collaboration with visual artist Akasha. The work emerges as an experiment that fuses AI-generated imagery with a critical reflection on our present, suspended between information overload and capitalist apocalypse.

The audience is immersed in a multi-screen environment where images unfold at a frenetic, almost dizzying pace. The hyper-saturated montage constructs a continuous loop with no beginning and no end: an eternal return within the dynamics of post-capitalist production, where success becomes indistinguishable from failure. In this sense, the piece draws on Mark Fisher’s insight that “success only means becoming the flesh the system feeds on.”

Visually, Hint oscillates between decaying urban landscapes, surveilled spaces, and scenes of consumerist opulence, producing a short circuit in which luxury and misery reveal themselves as two sides of the same coin. The use of artificial intelligence amplifies this effect, continuously mutating the images into an unstoppable flow of signs and meanings collapsing upon one another.
